What is an auto-invest order?
The Auto-Invest order is a recurring buy order that allows you to automatically purchase Bitcoin from your EUR balance in the 21bitcoin app at intervals you choose. Once set up, the purchase runs fully automatically in the background—without any manual intervention.
Auto-Invest helps you benefit from the cost-averaging effect: You buy regularly at varying prices and don’t have to decide when the “right” time to buy is.

Use cases for an auto-invest order
You want to invest in Bitcoin regularly and automatically without having to actively monitor the market.
You want to benefit from the dollar-cost averaging effect and gradually build up a Bitcoin position.
You already have a balance in euros in the 21bitcoin app and want to convert it into Bitcoin in fixed increments.
How to set up an Auto-Invest order
Tap “Buy” on the home screen
Tap the dropdown menu and select “Auto-Invest Order”
Select your preferred interval (daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
Select the amount in euros you want to invest in Bitcoin per transaction
Review the order details (amount, frequency, fees, next transaction) and tap “Confirm”
Important: When you set up your Auto-Invest order, an initial buy order is executed immediately. All subsequent purchases are made automatically at the selected interval.
Available intervals
You can choose from the following intervals:
Daily
Weekly
Every two weeks
Monthly
You can have one active Auto-Invest order running at a time per account.
Execution & EUR Balance
Auto-Invest orders are funded from your EUR balance in the 21bitcoin app.
Make sure you have enough EUR balance to cover the next scheduled execution.
If there isn't enough EUR balance at the time of execution, the Auto-Invest order will be automatically paused. You'll receive a notification via push and email.
Once you have enough EUR balance again, you can manually resume the Auto-Invest order (see below).
You can top up your EUR balance at any time via SEPA transfer to your personal IBAN at 21bitcoin.
Fees
To help you save in Bitcoin with as little friction as possible, the fee for Auto-Invest orders is reduced to 0% after an initial period:
Daily interval: The standard purchase fee applies for the first 7 active days. After that, all subsequent transactions are free of charge (0%).
Weekly, biweekly, monthly: The standard purchase fee applies to the first transaction. All subsequent transactions are free of charge (0%).
ℹ️ Pausing & Fee Logic: Days on which your Auto-Invest order is paused (e.g., due to insufficient funds) do not count as active days for the 7-day period. This ensures that only days of actual active use are counted.

Pause or Resume Auto-Invest
You can pause your Auto-Invest order at any time—for example, if you want to take a break from investing:
Go to the “Bitcoin” tab
Tap your active Auto-Invest order
Tap “Pause”
To resume a paused Auto-Invest order:
Go to the “Bitcoin” tab
Tap your paused Auto-Invest order
Tap “Resume”
The next iteration will then be recalculated starting from the point where the process resumes.
Cancel Auto-Invest Order
To cancel an Auto-Invest order:
Go to the “Bitcoin” tab
Scroll down to the card for your active Auto-Invest order
Tap “Manage” and then “Cancel”
Confirm the cancellation
Once the cancellation is complete, no further automatic purchases will be made. Any Bitcoin you have already purchased will, of course, remain in your wallet.
Auto-Invest vs. Savings Plan – What's the Difference?
At 21bitcoin, there are two ways to invest in Bitcoin automatically:

Both options can be easily combined: For example, you can use a savings plan to automatically convert your standing order into BTC and use an auto-invest order to convert your EUR balance into Bitcoin at a different interval.
