Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account in addition to your password by requiring a security code. This code is generated in an authenticator app on your smartphone and changes every 30 seconds.
This ensures that no one can access your account without both your smartphone and your password.
How to Set Up 2FA (TOTP)
Tap on your profile (bottom right in the navigation bar) and then on “Security”
If you haven’t installed an authenticator app on your smartphone yet, install one such as:
Google Authenticator,
Microsoft Authenticator or
Authy
Connect your 21bitcoin account with your authenticator app by:
Tapping the “Authenticator” button, or
Tapping “Copy code”, opening your authenticator app manually, and pasting the code there, orScanning the QR code with another smartphone.
Your authenticator app will now display a 6-digit one-time code. Enter this code in 21bitcoin to complete the setup.
How 2FA Works When Logging In
Log in as usual with your telephone number and password.
If 2FA is enabled, you will then be prompted to enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
Open your authenticator app and tap on the displayed code to copy it.
Switch back to 21bitcoin and paste the code.
Once 21bitcoin verifies the code, you will be successfully logged in.
Note: The code is only valid for a few seconds. If it expires, simply use the next one. Also make sure that your smartphone’s time is set correctly.
Troubleshooting
QR code won’t scan
→ Use the “Copy code” option and paste it manually into your authenticator app.
Code not accepted during login
→ Check whether your smartphone’s time is automatically synchronized. Even small time differences can cause codes to mismatch.
Lost access to your authenticator app (e.g., lost device)
→ Contact our support team via the in-app chat or our website so we can help you restore access.
Security Tips
Never store your password and 2FA codes in the same place.
Never share your code with anyone – not even with people claiming to be from support.
Watch out for phishing websites: always make sure you’re logging in through our official app.
