The spread is the difference between the mid-market price and the price at which you can actually buy or sell Bitcoin. It allows 21bitcoin to lock in your price for you and protects you from short-term market movements during execution.
21bitcoin includes a small spread in the displayed price of every buy and sell order. It typically ranges between approximately 0.3% and 0.5%, but may vary depending on market conditions.
A simple example: If the mid-market price is €70,000, a buy spread of 0.5% means a buy price of €70,350, and a sell spread of 0.5% means a sell price of €69,650.
Compared to the market, most crypto providers include a spread ranging from 0.15% to over 1.5%, depending on the exchange, market conditions, and pricing transparency. With a typical spread of 0.5%, 21bitcoin is at the lower end of this range.
You will always see the final price, including the spread, clearly displayed before confirming your order. In the order preview, tap the info icon next to “Fees” to view additional details.
